Our 2025 Impact
2025 told the story of a growing organization that stayed grounded in its purpose. We exceeded our B Corp commitments and pro bono goals, watched our reach increase through education and community building, donated to environmental causes, and added to our team to meet demand.
After much analysis and assessment of 2025, we believe our ability to positively impact the changemaking community is the direct result of a few key areas:

Mission Impact Through Cyber Security
Our third year as a certified B Corp reminded us of our commitments to transparency, social and environmental responsibility, and accountability. RipRap Security was founded to help nonprofits and purpose-driven organizations protect their data, reputation, and the communities they serve. As a result, 83% of our clients in 2025 were nonprofits or mission-driven organizations.
Education and Community Building
Cyber security should be available to every organization that needs it, regardless of budget. In 2025, we continued to offer accessible education and community programs that scale our impact beyond billable engagements.
Cyber Security Foundations
Our live virtual training course provides participants with the practical knowledge they need to establish strong cyber security baselines at their organizations, including step-by-step guidance on best practices, support for getting buy-in, and implementing initiatives as seamlessly as possible.
In the second half of 2025, 34 people completed the Cyber Security Foundations course. Because we believe that a more secure society benefits everyone, we have always offered this course on a sliding scale. Twenty-one participants were able to attend the course at a cost within their organization’s budget thanks to our Public Good Pricing.

Throughout the year, the RipRap team held 8 virtual Office Hours sessions, a new series in 2025. Anyone could join to get expert help on their cyber security questions, including:

RipRap went on the road! Our team participated in events and conferences, allowing us to share our expertise, meet new people doing important work, and learn more about what nonprofits and mission-driven organizations prioritize. We attended:
Environmental Stewardship
Our environmental commitments in 2025 continued to reflect our responsibility to operate sustainably as we grow.
As business members of 1% for the Planet for five consecutive years, we donated at least 1% of our revenue to environmental causes. We supported the following environmental organizations:
We also measured RipRap Security’s carbon footprint through our close partnership with We Are Neutral. In 2025, we generated 7.85 metric tons of CO2 emissions, all of which we fully offset through We Are Neutral's verified offset program, achieving carbon neutrality for the year. The increase in emissions over 2024's 3.84 metric tons reflects the growth in the business. We are committed to measuring our impact honestly and offsetting as we scale, while also looking for ways to cut our emissions.
2025 marked the first year that we included AI usage in our carbon offset calculations. Because AI is largely unregulated, usage has so far proved difficult to calculate. AI companies do not publish their carbon emissions and do not make it easy for users to access their own emissions and water usage data. However, RipRap specifically requested estimates of our team’s AI usage in 2025 so that we could have a more complete understanding of our emissions to offset them. We are committed to using AI responsibly, which includes taking responsibility for its environmental impact.
Social Responsibility
Our social impact in 2025 centered on continuing to make cyber security accessible to the organizations that need it most.
Cyber Security For Good® Grant Program
2025 was a breakout year for our Cyber Security For Good® grant program.
We received 107 applications, a 5.35x increase over the 20 applications we received in 2024.
This dramatic growth reflects the increasing visibility of the program and, more sobering, the rising urgency of cyber security needs among nonprofits operating in an increasingly hostile threat environment. We received applications from organizations working across an extraordinary range of issue areas and geographies, continuing the global reach we saw in 2024.
Exceeding Pro Bono Goals
We delivered 11.03% of our total working hours as pro bono cyber security work, more than double our 5% B Corp commitment, which included trainings, assessments awarded through our Cyber Security For Good® grant, and advisory sessions.
In total, we provided over $270,000 worth of pro bono cyber security support in 2025.
Combined with our pro bono efforts since 2023, we’ve provided over $350,000 in free support. Our pro bono projects supported organizations focusing on important issues, including:

Team Growth
2025 was a year of significant team growth. After years of building RipRap Security alongside other commitments, Steve and Garrett both became full-time employees.
We also expanded our team to bring in additional expertise and capacity to support our growing client base. This blended model allows us to match the right specialist to each engagement while keeping costs accessible to organizations of all sizes. Everyone who joins RipRap Security shares a similar goal: using their skills to fortify the organizations supporting the causes that matter.

Reflecting on 2025
What began as an idea in 2020 has become our full-time work. A business that proves cyber security and social impact aren't just compatible, but mutually reinforcing. A team that's growing without compromising on values. A community of clients, partners, and grant recipients that are tackling the most pressing problems facing the world, and who can do that work more confidently because their digital infrastructure is secure.
Every client engagement, every training session, and every pro bono hour in 2025 contributed to a larger vision: a world in which mission-driven organizations can focus on solving hard problems without the fear of cyber threats. When organizations feel secure, they can take bigger risks, operate swiftly and smoothly, serve more people, and have a greater impact.
Looking toward 2026 and beyond, we see continued and intensifying threats to nonprofits working on immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice, women's health, economic justice, and environmental protection. Our B Corp commitment calls us to be a force for good, supporting these critical causes and communities through cyber security excellence.
